Journaling:

My sweet Gracie, around her eighth birthday.

Gracie was laying by a window in my bedroom on this particular day and sort of hidden in the long curtains. Looking so content and sweet, I had to snap a few photos of her beautiful furry face. My round tortoise colored tabby was once the spoiled one in the family before Elizabeth and Andrew came along. Games of chase, regular hair brushings, and special treats were some of the ways she had spent her days as well as long undisturbed naps in my lap. She has since been moved lower on the list of priorities but that does not mean my sweet kitty is still not special or unimportant! We still have our moments together – mainly at night when I sneak to my scrap room and work or when I play on the computer. She either sits beside me in a chair while I work or in my lap while I type. And let us not forget that she sleeps between my legs every night! Yes, she still holds a special place in my life and heart and she forever will be my first fur baby. March 29, 2005
